Mark 6:33-34 BSB

But many people saw them leaving and recognized them. They ran together on foot from all the towns and arrived before them. When Jesus stepped ashore and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.

There are several examples if Christ’s compassion in the Bible; from the woman in Sunday’s scripture, to the crowds who followed Him, to Lazarus’s sisters, to Jerusalem itself, to His Mom as He was dying on the cross. Mercy and compassion were what He lived. How wonderful that He set such an example for us of how to do it. It is however, up to us to ensure that all the love and compassion He showed was not in vain. Mankind has a bad habit of only loving and showing mercy to the people they like and never those they dislike. But Christ never made that distinction; this was the man who forgave those who killed Him. We must teach ourselves to love the unlovable; help the abhorrent and forgive the unforgivable. This is the example set for us by our Lord and Savior, who brought us grace and eternal life. It is the least we can do.

Prayer:

Blessed Jesus, help me to love, forgive and help all people just as you did. Forgive my sins of judgement of others and lead me to just love like You. Amen
