Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
I love the concept of the table of our hearts; our hearts and minds as a library of God. (of course, I will concede that it probably really appeals to me because I am a writer.) I wonder what is in the Salvation section of our libraries; or what is written in the Good Works Section; or the Prayer sections? I don’t think I can over do encouraging everyone to do consistent inventories of our hearts, minds and souls because what lives there is what guides our very lives in Christ, that is why the Proverb urges us to bind Him around our neck; so we cannot drift away but stay alert and alive in God. Constant prayer and scripture keep the tablets of our hearts on the right subjects and paths and so keeps us on the way of God.
Heavenly Father, bind your word around my neck that I might never forget you. Amen.
