 Luke 10:33 BSB

But when a Samaritan on a journey came upon him, he looked at him and had compassion.

It is the ultimate kindness story; the outcast who loves others…I have found that a lot in life, often those who have suffered the most love the most. Perhaps they have an understanding that those who lived charmed lives never had. They know what it is like to be outcast, or poor, or alone, or grieving, or suffering and so when they overcome that they go out to make sure that others don’t suffer the same way. Perhaps our trials just make us kinder people; I don’t know but it happens. We need to all develop the empathy of the good Samaritans of this world. We need to look past who others are and see the pains that have created them. We need to see them through Christ’s eyes and when we do like that original Samaritan, we will feel the compassion that leads us to reach out and help.

Prayer:

Christ my Savior, help me to see others like You and the Good Samaritan did. As simply another person who needs our help, Amen
