“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”
There is always focus on what Jesus does with those fish and loaves but very little on the small boy who is will to give up his entire lunch for others. There were 5 thousand people there and that little guy offers up his whole lunch to help. What a great kid! What a great heart! Of course, this begs the question; what would we give to help our Jesus? Our time? Our money? What can Jesus do with our “lunch”? Can he feed the hungry, clothe the homeless? Visit the lonely? Stop and think about that for a while today. What can Christ do with your barley and fish and are you willing to give it up?
Oh Lord my God, show me what you need me to give and where it needs to go. Take my fish and loaves and me and use them for your will. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit I pray, Amen
