LET US CONSPIRE TOGETHER TO NOT ONLY SPEND LESS BUT GIVE MORE
Although it was a cold rain misty morning, our hearts were warm and full as we gave out 153 families ( probably close to 600-800 people) and our Youth and Kitchen Crew fed 153 people. And thanks to all our servant volunteers in every area of the church from our hospitality crew to our encouraging escorts who really rocked it this time to our unloaders, table people and our amazing Troop 406 helping load all that food! It was a great day to give Christmas away.
That is the way we conspire in this 3rd week of our series. Give More. Advent Conspiracy was founded on the radical idea that we can celebrate Christmas humbly, beautifully, and generously. Be a part of a different story this Christmas, one that celebrates our King and bring hope to a watching world. I want you to conspire with me to turn Christmas upside down this year and do this season differently.
Our first week we conspired to Worship Fully. Last week we focused on Spend Less. This week goes hand in hand with last week Give More. God is calling us to give more intentionally and relationally. That means giving more of our time, our energy, our memories, our talents, our presence. It’s a both/and. Spend less money and give more of yourself to the ones you love.
It sounds obvious, yet we seem to have drifted away from this liberating, straightforward truth: The Father gave his one and only Son. God’s answer for the world’s problems has never been material things. God did not give us more stuff – even good stuff like work, food, or health. God gave us himself. The most priceless and personal gift of all!

P.S. Continue to keep Lester in your prayers. Charlie was here on Friday night! Remember Sandra Upton in NHC Gallatin. Louise had successful shoulder surgery. Carolyn Sartain had some heart issues but is doing well unsure of the cause. And they might know a cause for Wayne Carpenter finally.
