LENTEN DEVOTIONAL DAY 10
For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly.
Ephesians 3:1-3
What do you think exactly what Paul is saying here? He talks about being a prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles, but what do you think that actually means? Looking at the definition of prisoner helps to really shed some light on what Paul’s meaning was:
Prisoner – a person deprived of liberty and kept under involuntary restraint, confinement, or custody.
Let me summarize this a bit, a person deprived of liberty and kept under involuntary custody. I see this from a different perspective, a viewpoint of, we might feel like we’re giving up some freedoms, but we must sacrifice some freedom and place our lives in the custody of Christ to fully accept His Love. This sacrificial love is partially in the form of how we treat others, such as the way Paul treats the Gentiles.
