Ways To Help with the Humphreys County Flood

E9ZWsdvWUAQ8Se4

Our friends to the west in the Waverly area desperately need our help. Recent flooding has devastated their community, washing away not only their homes but also loved ones and yes, even children. We want to reach out and let them know they are loved and they matter to God.  Please search your hearts and consider serving those suffering in Waverly and Humphreys County.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

PRAYER: This is something we can all do. Please continue to pray for this community as they grieve, clean up, and rebuild.

FINANCIAL GIFTS: Monetary donations are the best way to help the conference respond. You can give to GSUMC online here through the GIVE tab and we will send your donations

Or donations directly to the Conference and should be mailed to:

Tennessee Conference
PO Box 440132

Or, donations may be directly made by clicking on the link below: DONATION

DONATIONS: The Cumberland River District has organized 3 different drop-off sites with a deadline of September 13 for all donations. Hendersonville First is serving as a UMCOR Donation Site. Items can be dropped off M-F, from 7:30 - 4 pm, and Sunday from 8 am - 12 pm, at the church. A U-haul truck will be parked in the church parking lot for donations.

Acceptable donations at this time are listed below. While we certainly appreciate everyone's generosity and desire to help, at this time, we ask that you please do not bring items other than the ones listed, as they will not be able to be delivered for flood relief.

TIME: On September 19 at our Charge Conference we will be putting together Flood Buckets instead of OCC boxes to help Waverly.

Later Good Shepherd will be organizing clean-up crews to visit and assist in any way we can. At first, only those who are ERT ( Emergency Response Team) trained will go in.
