Luke 2:10 KJV

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

‘Fear not’ or ‘don’t be afraid’ are repeated in the scriptures more than 300 times; but perhaps the best instances occur with the birth of Jesus. It applies not just to Mary, or Joseph or the shepherds but to everyone in the world forever. The hope has come, the savior of mankind has arrived, there is no need for fear anymore. But the devil uses fear to pull us away from the great hope of man. He feeds us fears to give us doubts in ourselves and our God. He whispers we aren’t good enough; he whispers God is too busy for us; he whispers God isn’t really involved in our lives and we are just pawns on the chessboard of life. He is called the father of lies for a reason. Bur we have Jesus, we can ‘fear not’. Don’t listen to the whispers of doubt, hold on to the Hope of Christ.

Prayer:

Blessed Savior, thank you for saving me and be with me always. Help me to ignore the fear that the world and its evils have for me and to put my faith and hope in you alone. Amen.
