Isaiah 40:9 ESV

Go on up to a high mountain, O Zion, herald of good news; lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem, herald of good news; lift it up, fear not; say to the cities of Judah, “Behold your God!”

Even in the prophesies of Christ, we are told to no longer fear, so what keeps us afraid? We have the Good News, but we worry. We have salvation, but we are afraid. We have eternal life in Him, and yet we have anxieties of the future. We have unconditional love, but we are afraid of being alone. Why? Why do we let the troubles of our worldly lives take over our spiritual lives? (I don’t know but we do.) Maybe we need to start by building our faith and our relationship with the Lord. Perhaps we need to change our perspective and count our blessings more. Or maybe we should be leaning on others of faith in times of trouble. Of course, all of the above is also an option but we need to ‘just do it’. Faith is what defeats fear; but faith takes work. We must fortify our faith and leave the fear behind.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me to draw closer and closer to you and build my faith so that I leave my fears behind trusting only in you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
