2 Corinthians 1:3-4 BSB
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.…
He shows us compassion and love so we will have an example to follow. We receive the gifts of our God and need to share them with the world. It is our experiences in life that can teach us how to treat others in times of troubles. Having endured hardships ourselves, we understand better how to help and comfort those who are going through the same troubles now. Those who have always been rich rarely understand the poor. Those who have never lost a loved one don’t understand grief. Those who are always healthy cannot understand the struggles of the seriously ill. God allows these things to happen so we can learn understanding and comfort. Having made it through the hardships of life we are better prepared to help others do the same. That is what God is all about; loving us until the cup runs over and we have more than enough to share.
Prayer:
Oh Lord my God, thank you for getting me through the really hard times of my life. Lead me to use what I learned to help others get through as well. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen
