Stefanie is a born and raised, baptized member of the United Methodist Church. Originally from Clinton, Iowa (GO HAWKEYES!), she was a member of First United Methodist Church until she moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee at age 16. She has actively participated in many aspects of the UMC: Sunday School, Youth group, mission trips, Children & Youth Ministry worker, Lay Leadership Team, Sunday School teacher, SPRC, and now as Children’s Minister.
Stefanie started volunteering regularly with Children’s and Youth Ministries in 2007, and from there learned she had a desire to share the love of God with children. Spending time with the children of GSUMC, helped her to truly know and love these kids. And working so closely with the Children’s Minister gave her understanding of the job; also she served as Interim CM during a maternity leave in 2017. When the position became available, God nudged her to apply. She pours her heart and soul into our Children’s Ministry, helping teach children the Bible, showing them how much they are loved by God, going through life with the kids, and making it fun!
Stefanie and her husband, Alex (nurse practitioner), were married June 2010, and have 2 boys, Ben and Max. Their family enjoys playing board games, cheering on their favorite sports teams, and carpool karaoke.
