Daily Devotional: December 10th, 2019

As I plan each day, my hope is that it will turn out just right, no lumps, no bumps and no messes. Of course, that is not always the case. It’s like making a pie or a cake. We measure everything perfectly, mix it well and bake it just the right amount of time, but when we cut it, the slice doesn’t come out in that perfect piece like we wanted. Then we go one step farther, we taste it. Oh, so yummy.

At the end of the day, if all goes as planned, we seem to just move on. But if it doesn’t, it causes us to go a little farther and look a little deeper. That is when we see that it wasn’t our plan for the day but God’s plan that took place and that it was the sweet love of Jesus in the mix, the icing on the cake that made the recipe for the perfect day.

PRAYER: Thank you God for the days that don’t go just as we plan them, as those are the days that we feel your presence the most and see you more clearly. Amen

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God’s plan is the only plan that counts.
