And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
John 14:16-17
As we prepare for our Blue Christmas Service tonight, we should all take time to reflect on those who are in need of some hope or are hurting in this holiday season. As Christians we are called to show love and support to all, but especially those who are in need of it the most.
How can you help show support to those who are suffering from pain, sickness, poverty, abuse, or the loss of a loved one during the longest night?
Lord, I know that there are those who are suffering in this world. There are those who don’t see the Advent season as a celebration because of old or new wounds being opened or reopened. Give these individuals and/or me the peace of the hope that this season brings, the hope of healing. Surround those in this season with the love and support that your Son showed us here on Earth. Thank you for everything that you do. Amen
