We’re less than a week away from Christmas and everyone is in need of a break. With all the hustle and bustle of the season how do we find the time for rest? Finding time to relax in the holiday season can help you recenter and refocus on the birth of Jesus.
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:9-11
Resting on the Sabbath, or from time to reset is important in our daily lives. Taking the breath can give you a new perspective on things, restore your motivation, increase your productivity, help improve memories and improve learning, and help with your overall mental and physical health. Don’t find yourself saying I can’t afford to take a break or rest, because you might not be able to afford not doing so.
Lord, give me the piece of mind to know that it’s okay to take a break, especially during this time of year. Help guide me through the worry of feeling that I can’t get through my holiday lists, and focus on giving myself time to rest, relax, and refocus on the season. I ask that you give me the strength and that you make every moment in this holiday season meaningful and intentional to myself and others. Amen.
