Less Stress

Stress can cause a ton of issues in our lives, within our family, our work, and our relationship with God. As we let stress overcome our lives it becomes the central focus for us. How do you get yourself out of the throws of stress and leverage your relationship with God to carry the weight of that stress?

Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
“Let us break their chains
and throw off their shackles.”
The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.
He rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
“I have installed my king
on Zion, my holy mountain.”
I will proclaim the Lord’s decree:
He said to me, “You are my son;
today I have become your father.
Ask me,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.

Psalm 2

Psalm 2 shows us that God ultimately is the one that decree’s things here on earth. We have the free will to impact events in our lives, to try and take control of it all, but we always end up falling short with that mindset. God can take that stress from you, he can put ease into your mind and provide you guidance. Focusing on God first allows for you to set a priority list from there.

Reflection

Take a breath. Let God know what’s weighing down on your heart, what’s causing you stress in your life. Ask him for guidance and help to carry that burden. Focus on taking moments out of your day to remind yourself and pray for that guidance as you work through the stress.
