DANGER! WILL ROBINSON! DANGER! No I’m not talking about Lost in Space, the 1965 TV show, I’m talking about that feeling when you think no one is there for you. When you feel like you are just stuck floating through a vastness of emptiness and God just feels light years away with us pushing ourselves further from him through sin. How do you get “Unlost”? How do we correct the ship and focus on living a life outside of that darkness?
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
1 John 1: 5-7
1 John gives us the answer. Walk in the light by living out the truth, do not lie to God, others, or even ourselves. We need to share in the fellowship with one another as Christians to find that road sign.
Lord, Lead me down the path of light so that I may live a life of truth and honesty in your eyes. I know that I will stray from the pathway, I will become a lost sheep, but let Jesus guide me back on the path. Thank you for giving us Jesus to purify us in those times of darkness in our lives and for providing us a shepherd to guide us on our way to not become lost in space. In Christ’s name I pray, Amen.
