Daily Devotional: January 27th, 2020

Love over Knowledge

and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:19

At times in our lives we are filled with more knowledge than we can hold. We see the fleetingness of amassing knowledge as we fight a loosing battle to retain it all. Love though is something that can be easily obtained and retained, if we shift our focus of our mindset not on collecting knowledge, but on how to open our hearts to be filled by the love of God.

Now don’t mistake that you should not seek to learn, but make sure that you approach it from the thought that knowledge is not the same as wisdom and discernment. Wisdom and discernment provide us with what is important to what we do, who we are, and how we make decisions.

PRayer

Lord, help me focus on amassing Your Love rather than being focused on the pure pursuit of knowledge. Open my heart to receive the love of Christ and multiply it to others. Show me how to be a beacon of Love rather than just a pillar of knowledge. Amen.
