Seeking the Lord

Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

Isaiah 55:6-7

At the start of a new year we all can look to have a fresh start and look to turn to the Lord to ask for the forgiveness and mercy that only God can give us. The verses from Isaiah tell us to seek the Lord and call out to him when he is around or close to us. Sin distances us from God, but we can walk closely by asking for His will to be done in our life.

Prayer

Lord, I know that I am a sinner, and that I need You in my life to help guide me towards a more righteous path. Forgive me for those sins that weigh down on my heart today and allow for me to seek and find You when I call out for you. Thank you for Your guidance and wisdom as this year starts anew. I Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.
