If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. - Romans 10:9-10
There’s many places you can speak from, most of us struggle with the battle between speaking from our mind and speaking what’s on our hearts. We even the struggle of not speaking at all when we see injustices that weigh heavy on our hearts. We can overcome this struggle by following what’s outlined in Romans 10:9-10.
This verse calls for us to not only profess our faith with our mouths, but to believe it in our hearts as well that “Jesus is Lord”. This callout against the preverbal “Lip Service” that we all tend to give in situations where we just want to fit in is a key concept that shows us what it means to be devote in a belief. Using not just our words to state our belief, but to believe it in our hearts.
How do you think having a belief like this can change your life? or how can it change someone else’s life?
