Mark 10:13-14 BSB
People were bringing the little children to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them. When Jesus saw this, He was indignant and told them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Very soon the kids will all be headed back to school. (Many of us are celebrating this) so for the month of August I think we should pray for them. School has its challenges and troubles for the children and parents and teachers. Children deal with bullies, academic challenges, peer pressures, parental expectations and social trials. Older kids can also be affected by drug and alcohol issues and sexual pressures. Children who are starting at a new school often feel left out and afraid. Parents must remain forever vigilant for signs of trouble and finding the best ways to support their kids. Teachers work in an underpaid, underfunded system and required to fulfil the needs of multiple children. So, let us pray for all of them to be safe and strong and happy. Christ understood the importance of the young and so should we.
Jesus loves the little children
Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They’re all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, as the young people return to school this year keep them safe; give them strength and courage; bless them with teachers and classmates who care; and give the guidance to remain on your path. Shield them from evil. Help the parents know the best way to support and safeguard them and give the teachers the energy and love to assist them in their journey. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit I pray, Amen.
