And He asked them, “Which of you whose son or ox falls into a pit on the Sabbath day will not immediately pull him out?” And they were unable to answer these questions.
Rules and laws are meant for a reason, to keep order in society. But they are not always the right thing to do. Following the rules or the laws of man, when it goes against ethics and God’s law isn’t the best thing to do. Making laws to force your beliefs on others is also a sin. As Peter says in Acts; who are we trying to please, God or man? We need to have our priorities straight. We need to make sure we are God led in what we say and do; not led by societal trends and rules. We cannot listen to the Pharisees who tell us not to pull our child out of a hole because its Sunday. We need to do what is right and righteous in the eyes of the Lord. Listen to the Holy Spirit within and let it guide you to do what is right by God.
Holy Spirit, lead me to make my thoughts and actions right in the eyes of the Lord, no matter what the world says I should do. In Jesus name, Amen.
