Joshua 24:15 NIV
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
Joshua doesn’t say “we will serve the Lord on the Sabbath” or “we will serve the Lord after the field is plowed” or “we will serve the Lord when it is convenient” or “we will serve the Lord after we get our children raised”. He puts no limit on the when and neither should we. Being a Christian isn’t a part time job. It is a full-time, all-in job. We need to be living his Word every day. We need to be talking to him every day. We need to be in service to him every day. Is it always convenient or easy? No, but he is always with us and helping us. Joshua knew that, God had been with him through a lot, including leading a whole bunch of rebellious people.
Be Joshua, trust God and serve the Lord.
