As we prepare to sit down for Thanksgiving this year, we want to reflect back on the year we’ve had, and truly give thanks for the things that we have.
For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
1 Timothy 4:4-5
1 Timothy gives us some insight on how to properly give thanks for the good in our lives and how “nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer”.
Prayer is one of the most powerful tools that we have when it comes to giving thanks, so let us take a moment to think of some of the things to be thankful for.
Now that we have done that, let us pray:
Lord, thank you for all you have done for me and my family this year. I know that I can lose sight of the blessings I receive and it is days like today that I can really reflect on all that you have provided for me. Thank you for sending Jesus to our world, as a living sacrifice for all of humanity. I give all these praises to you, in Christ’s name, Amen.
