We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters,[a] and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.
2 Thessalonians 1:3
Am I growing in faith and in love for my brothers and sisters in the Lord?
Paul explains in 2 Thessalonians that these Christians were going through many trials. He writes to them that he is so encouraged because he sees them depending on God in these trials and times of stress. He sees God, in turn, producing in them strong faith, character and great love for Him and for each other.
Prayer:
God, our prayer for our church is the same as Paul’s in 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12. “With this in mind (life’s trials), I constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling and that by His power, He may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ In Jesus’ name, Amen.
