Lenten Devotional Day 4
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
Ephesians 2:1-3
That’s right. Before we let Christ into our lives we are dead, at least in a spiritual sense. We were separated from God from our sin. We followed the ways of the world, focusing only on self gain and worshiping the fleeting kingdom of the air, that can change or vanish at the simple gust of the wind.
We also lived so much in this world, giving in to every craving and desires of our flesh. Doing this we found ourselves lining up to be deserving of the wrath of God. But, we know differently as we wait for the end of this Lenten season to celebrate God’s greatest sacrifice, given to us in unconditional Love.
Prayer
Almighty God and Creator, I am a Sinner. I know that I am not worthy of the grace and Love that You have provided to me. I will always and forever be in your debt. Please forgive me for my transgressions, guide me to avoid repeating my sins, and give me strength to stand against the evil that festers in this world. I Christ’s Loving name I pray, Amen.
