For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:8-10
We have been saved only through the grace of God. No matter what you do here on earth you can never be saved without God’s gift. Think of this as you taking out a loan so large to buy your soul, knowing full and well that you will never be able to pay back the full amount before you die. A bank would never give you that loan, it’s not a smart investment, but God sees you as an investment worth making, we need to make sure we’re paying on that loan everyday by following in the steps of Jesus and sharing the Love and Grace of God and doing good works in his name.
Almighty Abba (Father), please first forgive me of my transgressions, I know that I will continue to fall short of perfection, but you will always show me the Love of forgiveness. Please guide me and use me here on earth to do Your will; give me the strength and clarity to be a conduit of Your Love. In Christ I was given, I was forgiven, so I pray to you in his name, Amen.
