Lenten Devotional Day 7
remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 2:12-13
We all were separated from God. We were excluded and turned away, treated as foreigners. There was no hope and God was not in the world. Then came Jesus. He brought us into an intimate relationship with God, no longer were we outcasts, but we were now restored to our position as children of God. Christ’s blood may have ran red on the cross, but it tethered us to God with an unbreakable chain. No longer will we be separated from Him.
Prayer
Lord, powerful and mighty. Hear my call to join with You. I want to grow and know You deeper than ever before. Thank you for sending Jesus Christ, Your only son to die for my sins. I know that I once was without hope, but with Christ, hope is overflowing. I pray this in His name, Amen.
