For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
Ephesians 2:14-18
Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Through his sacrifice we have been made whole, reconciling us with not only God, but with each other. We have all been given access to our Father through Christ. God is not more accessible to those who are more devoted, nor is he ever cut off from anyone.
We are all charged through Christ to share this peace on Earth. And though we speak of “Peace on Earth and Goodwill to All Men” during Christmas, that deliverance of Peace came on the cross to us. Sharing that with others is our charge.
Almighty Father, Please give me the strength to spread the Peace of Christ here on Earth. I know that I will never be able to do it without you working in my life. Know that I am grateful for the example set forth to me through Christ. In His name I pray, Amen.
