We will follow Jesus in the last moments of his life by experiencing what it is like to be with him through retelling the story of the Last Supper with his followers and a Virtual journey through interactive Stations of the Cross. Why do we celebrate Maundy Thursday??? Find out more below…No it is not because we can’t spell Monday and we don’t know what day of the week it is
…
On Maundy Thursday the church remembers the last evening Jesus shared with his disciples in the upper room before his arrest and crucifixion.
Maundy Thursday marks three events in Jesus’ last week: his washing of his disciples’ feet, his institution of the Lord’s Supper, and his new commandment to love one another. Maundy comes from the Latin mandatum novum, and refers to the “new commandment” Jesus taught his disciples (John 13:34).In other words, this is “new commandment Thursday.” The loud hosannas of Sunday have faded into oblivion. Jesus has gathered his disciples for the Passover Feast.
